Mobile app development

Axar7 builds mobile apps for iOS and Android in React Native, from one codebase, with native SDK modules only where the work has to run on the device. The Lead Discovery App for a B2B lead-data platform does its OCR on the phone that way, and TempMon puts live sensor readings and air-conditioning control for many sites on a phone.

01How it works

Mobile app development, step by step

  1. 01

    One codebase, two apps

The Lead Discovery App is built in React Native for iOS and Android. One shared codebase carries the screens, the search and the data, so both platforms get the same app.

  2. 02

Native where it has to be

Some work belongs on the device. The app reads text through the camera with on-device OCR, built on the native Android and iOS SDKs, so scanning works without first sending an image to a server.

  3. 03

    Search that fits a phone

Lead search, with filters and locations, covers the structured route. Global search adds an LLM-assisted route for queries that do not fit a filter, and every result opens a detailed view of the company or the person behind it.

  4. 04

Alerts and exports, away from the desk

Push notifications keep users up to date without opening the app, and leads can be exported from it, so the platform's data works at an event, in a meeting or on the road.

02Scope

What we build

  • iOS and Android apps from a shared React Native codebase
  • Native modules where work has to run on the device
  • Search, profiles and exports built for small screens
  • Push notifications
  • Live device data and remote control, as in TempMon

Where AI fits

The Lead Discovery App's global search is LLM-assisted for queries no filter fits, and its OCR runs on the phone rather than on a server.

06Questions

Common questions

Which mobile framework do you use?

React Native. The Lead Discovery App is one React Native codebase for iOS and Android, with native SDK modules only where the work has to run on the device, such as OCR.

Can an app work with hardware or sensors?

TempMon's mobile app shows live sensor readings against each space's ideal temperature and lets an operator set the linked air conditioner's temperature and fan speed from the same card.

Which mobile apps have you built?

The Lead Discovery App and TempMon, and the mobile side of DictionarE, WayOn and Minicab Lifeline, which run on the web and on mobile.

What does the first screen of a device-control app show?

TempMon's mobile app opens on a dark map with each site listed as a card and a carousel of sensors below. Sensor cards are light against the dark ground, so the reading and the controls are what the eye lands on: the current temperature large, whether it is over or under its limit, the linked air conditioner's temperature and fan speed as sliders, and the readings chart under that.

How long does a mobile app take?

It depends on the project. Simpler requirements take a few weeks, up to a month; complex builds take months.
